Naturally Relieve Fibromyalgia and Osteo Arthristis Symptoms

Hello, my name is Karen. Like many women over 50, I became over weight and less active.

After being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Ortho Arthritis, my doctor gave me two alternatives. First being medicine to control the ache and pains for the rest of my life, or using medicine for the short term while starting a work out plan. The doctor recommended 45 minutes of work out time, five days a week.

I can tell you I did not want to be on medicine for the rest of my life. So I have opted for a lifestyle change including a work out plan of activities that work for me.

I can honestly tell you, without this diagnosis, I would still be sitting on the couch, channel surfing and over eating.

I decided I would start with making some very simple changes that I could easily adapt to.

Eating Habits: Eat Chicken or Fish, red meat once a week, and eliminate pork from my diet. Control my portion size. 3-4 oz of protein at a meal. I eat small meals, but I eat something every 3 hrs. In this way, I am never starved and can make better meal choices.

Sleep: I had a great deal of sleep disturbance. Felt like I had restless leg syndrome, ache in knees and even the bottom of my feet. Severe snooring. Waking 2-3 times a night. I just felt I could not get comfortable.

Fitness: I started out just walking. I would walk at lunch time for 20 min. I found that it would clear my head and I would strive for a little more time or effort as I went.
Recently I have tried 2 new items to help me in my routine. I am using a Pilate’s reformer to help me stretch and relax muscles in back. It has given be a better range of motion. I typically do this in the evening, since the stretching helps me relax.
My doctor recommended trying the Ninento Wii Fit. I purchased it and can not believe the work out I can get from it. The Wii tracks your weight, BMI and fitness levels.

Have I become totally fit? Not yet, but am moving that way. I will tell you that I feel I have taken charge of my health. I am currently working out 4-5 days a week and for 30-45 min. The aches and pains are greatly reduced, I am not a couch potato, and am sleeping better. At my next doctor visit, we will be reducing the medication I have been on. It is my goal, to be off all medicine by September 2010.

I am using Holistic Treatments

I hope my story will help you make changes in your life and let you take control of your health.
